The studio iPhone app
The Spotter iPhone app has a studio side for your team. It’s the same Spotter as the web, with the same families, classes, and bills, and changes show up on both right away. It’s built for the floor and the front desk: taking attendance, looking up a family, recording a payment, and answering questions.
The iPhone app is coming to the App Store soon. Until then, everything here works in Spotter on the web, on any phone or computer.
Signing in
Sign in with the same account you use on the web. If you’re on a studio’s team, the app opens the studio side. If you’re also a parent at a studio, or on more than one team, tap the studio card at the top of More to switch.
Owners, admins, and the front desk
The tabs along the bottom are Today, Classes, Families, Messages, and More.
- Today: the day’s numbers, the same Needs you list as Today on the web, the morning handoff to approve, classes coming up, and recent activity.
- Classes: today’s classes and everyone’s schedule. Tap a class to see its roster, waitlist, and next meetings, take attendance, enroll a kid, or drop one. Owners and admins can edit the class’s name, days, times, coaches, and capacity.
- Families: search any family, or see the families with a balance. A family’s page has its guardians and phone numbers, kids with their medical notes and classes, the bill, and notes. Tap Record a payment to log cash or a check.
- Messages: questions families sent to the front desk, to answer or close, and notifications. Tap the compose button to send a notification to every family, one class, or your team.
- More: the rest of the studio.
- Concessions: sell at the stand and handle phone orders. Sales go on the family’s bill.
- Billing: who owes, disputed charges, and deposits.
- Events: create and edit events, add entries and who’s in them, and bill the event.
- Reports (owners and admins): enrollment, attendance, and money.
- Time clock: clock in and out. Owners and admins also see the team’s hours this week.
- Settings (owners and admins): family emails, the time clock rule, closures, and the app’s appearance (light, dark, or match the phone).
Concessions only shows when your studio has a stand set up.
Instructors
Instructors get two tabs: Classes and Time clock. Classes shows their classes for the day with the roll. Tap a class to mark kids Here or Absent, see medical notes, and leave a note from the floor. If your studio asks staff to clock in at the studio, the app checks their location once when they tap Clock in.
What stays on the web
Some things are only on the web, because they’re set up once or need a bigger screen:
- Creating your studio, importing from Jackrabbit, and creating programs and classes
- Stripe payouts, tuition rules, posting tuition, and statements
- Online sign-up, waivers, and studio settings beyond the ones above
- Your team and roles, and Team → Hours for payroll exports
- Your Spotter account
The app has an Open Spotter on the web link where you need it.
