Settings and teamDelete or restore a studio

Delete your studio

Deleting your studio closes it for everyone right away. Nothing is erased for 14 days, and during that time an owner can restore it exactly as it was. After 14 days, the studio and all of its data are permanently deleted.

Only an owner can delete or restore a studio. Admins don’t see the Danger zone.

Open Settings

Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom to the Danger zone.

Click Delete studio

Under Delete this studio, click Delete studio. A dialog titled Delete [your studio]? opens and lists what happens.

Confirm the studio’s name

Type your studio’s name in the first box. Capital letters and extra spaces don’t matter. A check mark appears when it matches.

Type the confirmation phrase

The second box unlocks after the name matches. Type delete my studio. When it matches, the Delete studio button becomes active.

Click Delete studio to confirm

Spotter archives the studio. Your screen switches to a “scheduled for deletion” message with the date the studio will be erased.

What happens when you delete

  • Your team, families, and kids lose access right away.
  • The parent app stops showing the studio, and your public class list goes offline.
  • Autopay, late fees, and family emails stop. Nothing new is sent.
  • Your Spotter plan stops renewing.
  • Nothing is removed yet. Every class, family, charge, and payment is kept as it was.

Anyone else who signs in to the studio sees the “scheduled for deletion” message and can switch to another studio. Only owners can restore it. In the studio switcher, the studio shows Deleting with the date beside its name.

Restore a deleted studio

You can restore the studio any time in the 14 days after you delete it.

Sign in as an owner

Sign in and select the deleted studio. The “scheduled for deletion” message appears.

Click Restore [your studio]

The studio reopens for your team, families, and the parent app, with everything as it was. Your Spotter plan starts renewing again.

Restoring is only possible until the studio is erased. After that, the data is gone and can’t be recovered.

After 14 days

Every day, Spotter permanently erases studios whose 14 days are up. That removes the studio’s families, people, classes, charges, payments, messages, uploaded files, and audit history. It also ends its Spotter plan.

Money your families paid into your studio’s own Stripe account belongs to you and isn’t touched. Deleting the studio doesn’t refund or cancel anything in Stripe.
