Billing and paying
The Billing tab shows what you owe and why. It’s the same statement the studio sees and emails you. The line under the Billing title tells you where you stand: an amount due, a credit, or “All paid up.”
Your bills
Most families have one bill, the monthly bill for classes. Your studio may have renamed it (it’s called Classes unless they did). If your family is also on a competition team, you have a separate team bill for things like routines, costumes, and event fees, and possibly a second team bill.
At the top of the screen is a row of tabs:
- With one bill: Statement and Account history.
- With two or more bills: one tab per bill, using the studio’s names for them, then Account history (shortened to History when there are three bills).
Each bill has its own amount due and its own Pay button.
Read a statement
A statement covers one month. From top to bottom:
- Amount due (or Credit on account, or All paid up) for this bill, across every month.
- A short summary: Previous balance, that month’s charges, Discounts & credits, and Payments.
- Charges grouped under each child, then Family charges, then Discounts & credits, then Payments received. Each charge is marked Paid, Due, or how much is left.
- Balance at the end of the month.
If you have more than one child, tap a name above the charges to see just that child’s lines, or Everything to see them all.
Pick a month
Use the Showing dropdown to switch months. On a team bill you’ll also see Whole season, which lists each competition or event with what it costs, what’s left to pay, and when it’s due.
Look back at past bills and payments
Tap Account history. Each month lists:
- Its statements, with the total and whether they’re Paid, Due, or partly paid. Tap one to open it.
- Its payments, each saying which statements it paid (for example, “Paid October Classes”).
Tap See every transaction to see every charge, payment, and refund in one list, with the balance at the end of each month. Tap ← Statements and payments to go back.
Open a receipt
In Account history, tap View receipt under any payment. The receipt shows who paid, the amount, how it was paid, the statements it paid, what it paid for, and your balance after the payment. Receipt emails from the studio open the same receipt.
Pay online
Paying online is available once your studio has set up online payments. If it hasn’t, you’ll see “Pay at the front desk.” instead of a Pay button.
Open the bill you want to pay
On the Billing tab, pick the bill’s tab.
Tap Pay
The button shows the amount due, for example Pay $185.00.
Enter your card or bank account
Pay with a card, a bank account, or a phone wallet. Your details go straight to Stripe, the payment processor; Spotter never sees them.
Confirm
You’ll see “Payment sent.” The studio sees your payment in a moment. Bank payments take a few days to clear.
Turn on autopay
With autopay, your balance is charged automatically each month after the studio posts tuition. Team fees are charged when they’re due. You get a receipt each time.
Find Autopay
It’s on the Billing tab: below your statement on a phone, on the right on a computer.
Tap Turn on
Enter a card or bank account.
Tap Save and turn on autopay
Autopay shows On with the card or account it charges.
To stop, tap Turn off next to Autopay, then confirm. You’ll pay each bill yourself from then on.
If an autopay charge or payment fails, a message at the top of the Billing tab tells you what happened.
